Understanding Listing Display Controls (VOW & IDX) – Media Tab

When entering a listing, the fields under the Media tab allow you to clearly capture your seller’s preferences for how their property appears online.

  • Virtual Office Websites (VOW):
Password-protected websites where agents share listing information with registered clients.
  • Internet Data Exchange (IDX):
Public-facing websites where listing information is displayed to general consumers.

Important:
Selections made for password-protected agent-client sites (VOW) directly control what can appear on public consumer sites (IDX). If any VOW field is set to “No (N)”, the corresponding IDX field will also be set to “No (N)".

For password-protected agent-client sites (also known as Virtual Office Websites or VOW), does your seller agree to:

*their listing being displayed on password-protected agent-client sites?:

  • Determines whether the listing can appear at all on agent-client websites that require a login. This is the foundational setting—if set to “No,” the listing will not be displayed on VOW sites.

*their listing address being displayed on password-protected agent-client sites?:

  • Controls whether the full property address is visible to logged-in users on VOW sites. If set to “No,” the listing will still appear, but without the specific address.

*listing remarks being displayed on password-protected agent-client sites?:

  • Determines if the listing description remarks written by the listing agent are shown to logged-in users.

*allow comments on their listing on password-protected agent-client sites?:

  • Indicates whether users on VOW sites can leave comments or feedback on the listing.

*allow display of automated price estimates on password-protected agent-client sites?:

  • Controls whether third-party automated valuation models (AVMs), such as estimated home values, can be shown alongside the listing on VOW sites.

For public consumer sites (also known as Internet Data Exchange or IDX), does your seller agree to:

*their listing being displayed on public consumer sites?:

  • Determines whether the listing can appear on public websites. This is the primary visibility setting for broad online exposure.

*their listing address being displayed on public consumer sites?:

  • Controls whether the full property address is visible to the public. If set to “No,” the listing will still appear, but without the specific address.

*listing remarks being displayed on public consumer sites?:

  • Determines if the listing description remarks written by the listing agent are shown on IDX sites.

*their listing comments being displayed on public consumer sites?:

  • Controls whether public comments or professional opinions associated with the listing may be displayed on public consumer sites.

*allow display of price history on public consumer sites?:

  • Indicates whether the listing’s price changes over time can be shown. This can influence buyer perception and transparency.

*allow display of market time on public consumer sites?:

  • Determines whether the number of days the property has been on the market is visible to the public.

*allow display of automated price estimates on public consumer sites?:

  • Controls whether automated valuation estimates (AVMs) are displayed publicly alongside the listing.
