When you're entering a listing in connectMLS, the Media tab includes several important display preferences. These settings help you honor your seller’s wishes while ensuring their listing appears exactly where—and how—they expect. Below is a simple, clear breakdown of what each field means so you can choose the best options with confidence.
- Selecting Yes allows the listing to appear on VOW (Virtual Office Website) platforms—websites where users create an account to view expanded MLS information. Selecting No turns off all syndication for the listing, meaning it will not feed to any outside sites.
Does your seller agree to their listing being displayed online?
- Selecting Yes allows the listing to be shared on IDX (Internet Data Exchange) sites—these are the typical real estate search websites consumers browse. Selecting No prevents the listing from appearing on IDX sites.
Does your seller agree to listing remarks being displayed online?
- Selecting Yes allows your public remarks to appear on IDX websites, helping consumers view the important selling points and details you've written. Selecting No hides your remarks from those sites.
Does your seller agree to their listing address being displayed online?
- Selecting Yes allows the full property address to appear on IDX websites. Selecting No hides the address, which some sellers prefer for privacy reasons.
Does your seller agree to allow comments on their listing on Virtual Office Websites?
- Some VOW sites allow registered users to leave comments about listings. Selecting Yes allows these comments to be visible to other VOW members. Selecting No disables this feature.
Does your seller agree to allow automated valuation models for their listing on Virtual Office Websites?
- Selecting Yes allows VOW websites to display automated valuation models (AVMs)—their estimate of what the home may be worth. Please note that IDX sites may still show their own AVM regardless of this selection.
