Understanding Listing Display Controls (VOW & IDX) – Paragon
When entering a listing, there are VOW and IDX fields available that allow you to clearly capture your seller’s preferences for how their property appears online.
- Virtual Office Websites (VOW):
Password-protected websites where agents share listing information with registered clients. - Internet Data Exchange (IDX):
Public-facing websites where listing information is displayed to general consumers.
Important:
Selections made for password-protected agent-client sites (VOW) apply to private AND standard listings.
For password-protected agent-client sites (also known as Virtual Office Websites or VOW), does your seller agree to:
*Internet Listing Display YN
- Determines whether the listing can appear at all on agent-client websites that require a login. This is the foundational setting—if set to “No,” the listing will not be displayed on VOW sites.
*Display Address on VOW YN
- Controls whether the full property address is visible to logged-in users on VOW sites. If set to “No,” the listing will still appear, but without the specific address.
*Display Remarks on VOW YN
- Determines if the listing description remarks written by the listing agent are shown to logged-in users.
*Internet Consumer Comment YN
- Indicates whether users on VOW sites can leave comments or feedback on the listing.
*Internet Auto Val Display YN
- Controls whether third-party automated valuation models (AVMs), such as estimated home values, can be shown alongside the listing on VOW sites.
Important:
Selections made for password-protected agent-client sites (VOW) directly control what can appear on public consumer sites (IDX). If any VOW field is set to “No (N)”, the corresponding IDX field will also be set to “No (N)". IDX fields only pertain to standard listings.
For public consumer sites (also known as Internet Data Exchange or IDX), does your seller agree to:
*Display Listing on IDX YN
- Determines whether the listing can appear on public websites. This is the primary visibility setting for broad online exposure.
*Internet Addr Display YN
- Controls whether the full property address is visible to the public. If set to “No,” the listing will still appear, but without the specific address.
*Remarks on Internet YN
- Determines if the listing description remarks written by the listing agent are shown on IDX sites.
*IDX Comments Reviews YN
- Controls whether public comments or professional opinions associated with the listing may be displayed on public consumer sites.
*Price Hist On IDX YN
- Indicates whether the current listing’s price changes over time can be shown.
*Market Time On IDX YN
- Determines whether the number of days the property has been on the market is visible to the public.
*Auto Val/AVM on IDX YN
- Controls whether automated valuation estimates (AVMs) are displayed publicly alongside the listing.
Using connectMLS?
Listing Display Controls work the same way in connectMLS, but the fields are located on the Media tab during listing input. See: Understanding Listing Display Controls (VOW & IDX) – Media Tab.
